For many years I have frequented wonderful libraries. From Rome, the silence and the scent of the Angelica Library in Campo Marzio remains in the heart and mind, the light that rises from the Botanical Garden spreading over the large tables of the Accademia dei Lincei Library in Via della Lungara, the reserved access to the Vatican Library. From Milan, the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana conveys the inexhaustible desire of Cardinal Federico Borromeo to collect the results of both the most learned research, and what we now call “innovative”. It’s an emotion equal to that which the gaze conveys when running along the walls of the Archiginnasio of Bologna and its Library, observing the infinite series of coats of arms of the teachers and students who attended the prestigious university site from 1563. Reluctantly putting all these thoughts aside, I recall the Bibliotheca Augusta by Wolfenbüttel and many other spaces with an invitation to those who read to visit these fantastic places, precious treasure chests of the inexhaustible treasures transmitted in books by the written word.
The small Library , the beloved Wunderkammer of our hotel, is dedicated to them, trusting that our Guests will spend interesting and peaceful hours there.
