Gabriella
Belloni, the owner of the “Antica Dimora del Gruccione”,
runs her hotel as an “albergo diffuso” (which means a hotel
that consists of several houses in the same neighbourhood) together with
her assistants, Chicca, Anna and Pina. The two daughters of Gabriella,
Lucilla and Carolina, also participate, as long as their studies allow
it. The hotel also has three mascots, Puck, the dog, Artemide and Fiammetta,
the two cats.
Successful management of a hotel also depends on customers who care about
its unique structure, and the type of service and food they receive.
Our customers become friends and with their outstanding set of diverse
competencies, they constitute the core of the seminar business of the
hotel.
“Antica Dimora del Gruccione” is the name Gabriella gave to the hotel that was originally home to her ancestors. The “Gruccione” is a beautiful bird that migrates in the summer to Sardinia from the tropics. Every time Gabriella returned from Rome to Santu Lussurgiu for the summer season to visit her grandparents house, the Gruccione was there to greet her.
Gabriella grew up in Rome. She received her Ph.D. degree in philosophy
from the University of Rome. After receiving her degree she moved to Germany,
where she worked as a researcher, first in Munich at the “Institut
fur Geistesgeschichte des Humanismus” then in Wolfenbüttel at
the “Herzog August Bibliothek”. After returning to Italy, she
lived in Milan, where her two daughters Lucilla and Carolina were born.
In 2002 she decided to move to Santu Lussurgiu into her ancestors’ home
since it had always been a very important point of reference in her life.
By turning her home into a unique hotel she was able to share with her
friends and others the special environment of Santu Lussurgiu and Montiferru,
away from all the conventional tourist routes. Here one can experience
an beautiful natural environment where the seasons suggest, in their own
convincing way, what to do best with yourself. |
